Michael Gearheart

Michael Gearheart is ARA’s Senior Vice President and Senior Fund Controller, Commingled Funds. Focusing on ARA’s largest commingled fund, Mr. Gearheart is responsible for the oversight and management of all fund accounting and financial and investor reporting. He is also a member of the firm’s Valuation Committee. Prior to joining ARA, Mr. Gearheart was a Senior Associate in EY's Real Estate, Hospitality, and Construction assurance group, providing audit and financial accounting advisory services to a variety of publicly traded and privately held clients. Prior to that, Mr. Gearheart held various positions at Southern California Edison where he was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Mr. Gearheart has over 22 years of real estate accounting experience and graduated with a B.S. degree from California State University, Los Angeles.
